I wasn’t able to find a website for Barbara. I desperately wanted to see her work after I saw the amazing necklace she was wearing.  I did find this though and the address matches the business card she gave me.

December 4th, 2012 – Art Basel Miami day 1

It would be an understatement to say that the amount and quality of the street art in Wynwood has increased dramatically since last year.  There needs to be a stronger word. Hyper-dramatically?  Anyways, the photos below are just a few snaps I took while walking around the neighborhood after I finished hanging my work at GAB studio.  I will post pictures of the gallery once it is open but for now just feast your eyes on this small sampling of outdoor art I saw during a short walk today.  Seriously, this is just one section of the neighborhood.  There is a lot more I just didn’t walk past yet.  More pics later this week.

I am going to try to tag the artists if I know or the pieces were signed.  If you know an artist who is not tagged or is tagged incorrectly please email me at ross@rossfordart.com with the file name and the correction.  I can’t promise it will get updated this week but it will get updated.

Art people are definitely everywhere. Extra points for the guy in the beret.

Please come out and support Carrack Modern Art this Saturday. The Carrack is integral feature of the Durham art scene, providing a totally free, no commission exhibition space for local artists. They are able to do this only with support from the community. The are currently raising money for the 2013 operating budget. Tickets to the Gala are only $25 and you can bid on great art donated by local artists like me.

I donated this painting, Number 395 to the auction:

The event is set up to be interesting and fun. From the Carrack:

Beer will be provided by Bull City Burger and Brewery, refreshments provided by Loaf with wine and heavy hors d’oeuvres.

General admission to the Gala and Art Auction is $25.

Limited tickets are also available to attend a special Champagne Preview Party from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. that will give guests an exclusive opportunity to purchase works of art at the starting bid price before the auction begins. The Champagne Preview Party also includes a glass of champagne for each guest during an intimate gathering with Carrack artists and other Carrack supporters.
