Reunion at Bakehouse Art Center, Miami

I am very excited to announce that my painting #434 will be in the show Reunion at the Bakehouse Art Center in Miami. This show gathers a selection of artists from the Bakehouse’ 29 year history. I had a studio there from 2009-2010 and made a lot of great friends. I know some of the other artists in the show but many I just know of. Special treat: I will be at the opening on February 13.

Opening:

Friday 13, 2015 7pm-10pm

December 4th, 2012 – Art Basel Miami day 1

It would be an understatement to say that the amount and quality of the street art in Wynwood has increased dramatically since last year.  There needs to be a stronger word. Hyper-dramatically?  Anyways, the photos below are just a few snaps I took while walking around the neighborhood after I finished hanging my work at GAB studio.  I will post pictures of the gallery once it is open but for now just feast your eyes on this small sampling of outdoor art I saw during a short walk today.  …

Iterative Expression 2 years later

It is hard to believe that it has been 2 years since these pictures were taken.  We were back in Miami last week to see some good friends and it brought back memories of feverishly hanging 120 paintings in a day, staying out late with good friends, then flying to Massachusetts for a wedding and a reunion, then packing our whole life into a truck and driving non-stop to NC.  Just thinking about it makes me feel tired.  Anyways, I thought I would post some of these pictures, some of which were on facebook but never made it to my site. …

Art Basel 2011 – Day 3 in Wynwood

Ok, so I spent the day checking out some more great street art.  First up was Krave‘s beach party over at the Sunbather.  We got there early while he was still spreading the sand. This mural is awesome.  Full disclosure: I have known Dan for a long time now and consider him a good friend.  I first met him back in 2006 when I was painting Number 73 on Lincoln Road.

After that we decided to go back to the Bakehouse and see how the old school crews were coming along:

While we were over there, we hit up the big wall along 95. …

Art Basel 2011 – Day 2 in Wynwood

So I haven’t  made it over to the beach yet.  Partially because I am not so interested in the big fair, partially because the traffic situation is particularly bad this year.  But I did make it to a few more corners of Wynwood and the Design District.  I saw the by now infamous Miru Kim performance/installation at Primary Projects – the one where she is living naked with two live pigs for 104 hours in a storefront window.  No pictures allowed but there are some pics over at the New Times. …
